With the MPO’s Daniš brothers Miroslav and Peter on violin and mandolin, Joe Pruessner on acoustic bass, and top local musicians in the ensemble, tap your feet to the sounds of the early swing greats like Louis Armstrong, the French gypsy jazz of Stefanne Grapelli and hits of the big band era from Duke Ellington to Cab Calloway. They will surprise you with a bit of cabaret and Sinatra, and as they keep the music moving with the bossa sounds of Jobim you might even hear a drop of bebop. Fun, light and buoyant, this music focuses on the “Happy” in Happy Hour.
